Agree. If memory serves, GWB got a pass on Katrina at first. Once it became clear things were being botched, he lost the benefit of the doubt.
Why in the world would Trump's approval ratings rise during this period? He has never been more incompetent.

Because the networks keep putting his briefings/rallies on TV every day where he gets to play President.

I don’t get it though. I don’t hear an intelligent, comforting, supportive man speaking during those briefings. Just a lying, petulant child striking out at everyone. What is giving them hope?!
