For those unfamiliar with the concept, "washing" of data is when you mask the real source of data from a sensitive source (a spy, a classified sensor, etc.) by making it appear as if it came from one or more less sensitive sources.

My first idea was that this would be a perfect strategy for "washing" data gathered through sensitive sources, but of course it could just be a stroke of good luck as well.

All preparations completed, now I'm looking forward to running one of my favorite intelligence analysis training exercises at tomorrow morning. It's always nice with a bit of Scandinavian cooperation, especially if there's smørrebrød involved.

This will probably end as it usually does, with me acquiring original flight manuals and then wasting countless hours learning obsolete radio navigation techniques to go on completely uneventful IFR flights.

I saw a Vickers Viscount cockpit at a museum this weekend, and suddenly felt the urge to fly simulators again (somehow this always comes back). Can anyone recommend good vintage airliners for X-Plane 10 or 11? I'm looking for 1960s/1970s planes. Payware is fine.

Finally got around to ordering a new 1TB SSD. Time for a fresh install and a new home partition. Linux Mint 19.3 is going to be nice after years with 17/18 (I already run 19 on my computer at work, and I'm very happy with it there). Amazing how cheap SSDs are these days.

This week I've juggled a construction crew working in my home, a kid on antibiotics because of an ear infection, student papers & emails from three different courses simultaneously + the logistics of dealing with the kids while my wife is on a business trip. SOON: BRANDY TIME!

It's funny how the best ideas never seem to pop up when I'm at work, while reading books and articles. Instead, they just appear out of the blue late at night when I'm taking a shower or shaving. Anyway, I now have yet another research project I need to try to develop this year.

Mitt favoritklipp med Jörn Donner, från en svunnen era när folk drack sprit och rökte cigg i direktsänd TV:

Chilling reading on the fear of German radioactive "dirty bombs" in 1942, from 's book The Nuclear Spies.

If the Swedish Armed Forces (and Finnish Defence Forces) had been using Red Alert 2 music in their ads, I predict that recruitment numbers would have gone up dramatically.

This spacecraft has been operating continuously in one of the most hostile environments imaginable for 42 years straight, without direct maintenance. It can still maneuver in space. Its software is still working as intended. An amazing feat of engineering.
