I believe the white circle is Earth’s orbit around the Sun and the red line is the moon’s orbit around the Earth. And it’s about 7-11 feet(about the size of a car).

Confused. With my basic understanding of mechanics, I can't see how an object coming from infinity in a gravitional field could ever get captured by the field. Traversal should be hyperbolic, only 1 pass. Must be missing something...
