    Wu Lien-teh 伍連德 was a Malayan-born Chinese doctor and the first medical student of Chinese descent to study at the University of Cambridge. He was also the first Malayan nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine, in 1935.

    Dr. Wu Lien-teh and his wife. A Malayan-Chinese doctor who urged CHN gov to shut down railway out of Harbin before Spring Festival 1911 preventing spread of a Pneumonic Plague outbreak, saved 100’s of thousands of Chinese lives, and first introduced “anti-plague” masks in China.
