Polanski thread: Polansk is a scapegoat for Hollywood. Rosemary’s Baby is a non-fiction reconstruction of life in Hollywood. Polanski is being persecuted for telling the truth. He got in to deep and they hung him out to dry.
People who complain about Polanski are boring, middle class moralists and probable hypocrites. The man is a genius and works in a different way to most people. He follows his own law. He is also (see Clive James interview) a realist about women.

The Holocaust is not very important in Polanski’s work. This happened in the dream world of his childhood. His films are really about growing up in Communist Poland and life in the West.
