Reading about Lenin’s revolution & the Bolsheviks of over a century ago feels truly distant & antique. In the early 2000s, I still felt some connection to this early 20thC industrialism...now it has been obliterated. Sometime around 2011, we entered the 21st century.
This is not contradictory. Historians do not classify by arbitrary time blocks...there is Hobsbawm’s “short 20th century” running 1914-1991. We might say that, there was an interstitial “centuryless” period 1991-2011 (the “end of history”). History restarted in 2011.
