1. The origins of the contemporary American left in Puritanism are most apparent in their obsession with turning everything into a job, see: “emotional labour”, “working on my bias”, and “sex work”. Work, held as a sacred route to God by the Proddies, takes all.

2. America, the most total work-orientated society on the planet, can only see labour (which is close to Godliness). They “work” on their relationships. They don’t have emotions, rather they have “emotional labour”. They don’t make love, rather they have “sex work”.

3. This is apparent in the “red pill” as well, who also see humans as a total commodity. The left wants to get “better value” out of their labour (i.e. change compensation for having emotions, making love etc). The right want more competition.

4. What is total is “labour”. There is no concept that love, joy, and so on may live outside labour—everything is excessive, but never frivolous. Americans are totally utilitarian in this regard, and it contributes to their total deadness as a people.
