We crossed over. Yes, I know from anecdotal experience that US surveillance is very potent. Civil liberties people will always ring the alarm and that will be used for propaganda against China. Probably still more legal restraints in the US, though.

I find it interesting that in the US it's the private sector that is asking for government regulations on face-recognition tech. I don’t follow the ins and outs of this. Maybe people like Greenwald do—perhaps this is all just showmanship from the corps. I long ago assumed that everything I do is logged and seen and just decided to roll with it.
