Americans & American journalists are always “struggling to make sense of X”, as if they didn’t have an opinion. You have a definite opinion, but you’re too afraid to present it and so you equivocate. Hedging, hedging, hedging...the combination of corporate jobs & democracy.

Of course, they present a definite opinion anyway. They just pretend to have “struggle” to be fair or some such nonsense. It’s basically cowardice, pretending you’re evaluating when you’re really equivocating. Pretending to be fair when you have no intention to be.
