Language and intention: Most people forget that “Nazi” is actually an insult equivalent to”commie”. When someone writes “National Socialist” or “NSDAP” outside a history book (historians usually use NSDAP to retain accuracy and, I presume, impartiality) you should think, “Why?”
What are they trying to rehabilitate or defend by using language this way? Alternaitvally, why does the word “Nazi” make them angry or upset? Probably because they have some sympathy.
