I think so. Nature is masculine. Civilisation is feminine. Civilisation and technology allow us to transcend nature (e.g. birth control) and natural hierarchies and inequalities. The natural world is starkly unequal and brutal. A move towards the natural order is rightist.https://twitter.com/underscrutiny/status/1016678040452108288 …

I'm a bit late to the discussion here, but "anything that moves towards nature is rightist"? Surely you don't mean that.

Natura is feminine, ie a creation. Civilization and technology are as natural as tribal barbarism. I'd argue moreso. Setting civilization, per se, in opposition to nature is a categorical error. Scratch an unnatural civilizational development and it bleeds violation of telos.

This is a real monotheism weakness. Hephaestus (technology) is masculine, but civilization derives from agriculture, which is both (grain through Demeter, Hermes and Pan for shepherds).

Not seeing a weakness. Creation is masculine force, creature feminine. It's imbedded in language gender because deep gender is imprinted on the universe.

Most people can't grok this, only follow narratives. They reject the yoke.

Nonsense. Most people don't even recognize the yoke. It's encoded, prerationally into language itself.

Strong disagree. Our malaise is spiritual and is tied directly to this imbalance.

Whatever spiritual imbalance exists is NOT DUE to perceiving the nature of things as they actually are. Find a better slogan.

You're dead wrong here. Cognitive dissonance and anger flow from reality's unwillingness to conform to beliefs. Half the west is insane with rage because of this imbalance.

Nature isn't "masculine" and civilisation isn't "feminine", any more than self-sufficiency is "rightist". These dualities make no sense at all. The world is so much more complex and interesting than that.

So much to pick apart here. Look forward to the article! How is nature "masculine"? Why such stark binaries? Further, surely Kropotkin's work on mutual aid means that "nature" is anything but "starkly unequal and brutal"?!

Brutality =\= masculinity, the feminine is capable of extreme cruelty. Civilization is undoubtedly a masculine force because it streamlines and orders cruelty into rational channels. That being said I have doubts that the gendering of concepts holds any value for modern minds
