Because it’s a part of the truth, I think. It’s probably truer of rightist subcultures than rightist political thought. On the latter even some of the most Greek-worshipping end up replaying it through a Roman lens.
Why does it still play out in contemporary rightist politics if it isn’t true? Why do some people pretend to be “tradcats” or “Achilles reborn” and then fight each other if this isn’t so?
