My suburb, now a multiethnic and multinational sector, was homogeneous 30 years ago. And I think the changes are speeding up. The UK is like a collapsed star. We’re dragging everything into us. No escape. Spatial distance between Delhi, Lagos, & London has collapsed!
When people say “everything is happening so fast these days”, I don’t think that’s just an old person who is overwhelmed by what a young person can cope with. I really do think all forces: technological, artistic, political, and social are speeding up.
