Political despair: This was experienced by Orwell, Koestler, Burnham, and Whittaker Chambers. It’s condition of the right, being the more realistic side. All these men thought that Communism would win & obliterate everything human. It didn’t. The tide is changing.

The paler iteration of communism is dying now. It won the great civil war between the two sides of social justice, but it didn’t have anywhere else to go. It’s not as bad as Marxism-Leninism, but it’s dying just the same.
