Earnestly struggled through Althusser’s “Reading Capital” as a teenager. Didn’t understand it. Quite enjoyed his autobiography, mainly for the title: “The Future Lasts Forever” (also unimaginatively translated as “The Furtue Lasts a Long Time”). Murdered his wife.
French Algeria produced Albert Camus, Jacques Derrida, and Louis Althusser. Not bad.
