2/ Observation is not the same as intelligence. Observation provides the data, but it doesn’t make inferences. Note that the right often refers to political correctness as a “war on noticing”, i.e. “a war on observation”.

3/ Most leftists observe the same things as rightists, but they make inferences: If I observe A, then talk abou t A, and then generalise A..that could lead to B and C happening. B and C are bad (or I disagree with), so I will pretend not to see A.

4/ Which is why, of course, the working class and small businesspeople tend to be less politically correct. They just observe things and then say. It’s pushing it a bit to say that one Nazi symbol was an eagle (also pre-Nazi symbol & common), but it is an observant bird.
