/ An Icelandic girl kisses me after we have a longish discussion about whether men prefer women to shave their twats or not. I say it really doesn’t matter, but on balance I prefer as nature intended. The group of her girlfriends are not convinced.

/ They seem obsessed by this question of shaving. Will this please men? I actually spend little to no time thinking about this question, but girls seem to think in possesses men. Anyway, I end up kissing this girl. “Why me?” she says.

/ “Because I’m a feminine man, and you’re a masculine woman,” I say. It’s true. She’s got a close cropped head. I have a lisp. they always like me, these girls with a latent (or not so latent) lesbian tendency. Why is that?

/ It’s because sex is more than biology or social construction. There’s something spiritual or to do with conciousness about it. These masculine girls are often the product of divorces, as am I. This causes something to jump psychologically due to the ambivalence btwn parents.

/ The girls overidentify with men, and the boys over identify with women. And then these two types attract each other, looking for what is missing in the other—except it’s distorted and everything is the wrong way round inside them.

/ I’m not making a moral point here per se. I just think there’s a lot more to human sexuality and sexual identity than biology, social construction, and even conventional psychology. There’s something spiritual or connected to conciousness at play.
