The Red Army Faction fascinates me. They were so violently against their parents’ generation. They decried their Nazism, and yet...what did the RAF object to most strenuously? The military occupation of Germany by the US, and the existence of Israel.

Little surprise that their lawyer, Horst Mahler, turned to the hard right. In a sense, as with Carlos the Jackal (turned to Islamism, I believe), this shows that the real struggle in the world is between capitalism and the rooted—whether expressed through. M-L or fascism.
