Americans like to imitate what they imagine is aristocracy. They call themselves Jeremiah P. Orvill IV, as if they were kings. Sometimes I see Americans assuming this is an English thing they copied. “Oh, he’s so posh Mr. Fetheringstone III.” No one in England does this.
