The slogan is not saying that the product “protects and cares” for your skin. It is commanding you, as a man, to “protect and care” (for your woman). Personally, I prefer to “attack and disrupt”.

Deodorant aimed at male buyers, like Lynx/Axe, simply says, “Women will f!ck you if you buy this.” Those are mostly aimed at teenage boys, of course. Interestingly, this deodorant was bought for me by a female relative when I ran out. The marketing works. I prefer Old Spice.

I like the smell of Old Spice. However, I suspect I was roped into it in my late 20s by a viral marketing campaign w/ a man, formerly famous for advertising the Halifax (I think), dancing. It was a surreal campaign designed to update a fusty brand for my demographic. Got me.
