Linguistic equivocation like this doesn't disappear hard epistemological problems. The laughable state of AI development is a direct consequence of such thinking.
Chomsky has a nice take on this, the computer thinks in the same way a submarine swims. A submarine can’t “swim” really, but it moves through water faster than a human.
