Sapir-Whorf: This has been spoiled by taking it too far. Robert Anton Wilson and similar thought that language to determine everything. This discredited S-W. Language does not determine all, but it’s still important.
The different words for colours in Russian and Ancient Greek mean that we carve the world differently. At a lower level, changing words like “transsexual” for “transgender” or “gender” for “sex” change how we see and act in the world.

We are losing many languages, becoming homogenised. When we lose these languages, we lose different ways of seeing. Aspects of the truth are concealed. This is why language homogenisation is dangerous.
