The marginalisation is real. It takes a bit more than that to radicalise: fatness, ineptitude, and probably general bullying. But it’s an element. There’s a big advertising push to rehabilitate red hair at the moment. A white man in an ad tends to be red haired.
“Ginger jhadis” are real. I joined a communist organisation as a teenager, and—though not decisive—this was partly down to being bullied ‘cause I had red hair. Lenin and Castro had red hair too, of course.

It’s sort of working. My hairdresser praised my hair the other week. Makes a change from “You ginger cunt” hurled from a car window. Anyway, it’s basically true...gingers and redheads are marginalised and sometimes that leads to radical politics.
