Thread:
The strange endurance of corporal punishment - “research into the effects of corporal punishment is almost entirely uniform in its agreement that the practice does not work and has enduring negative effects on children.” From .

Partly a demand issue: I don’t think many charities have a good understanding of how poor their use of data is or risks from how they present information. Regularly see ITTs which have v.unrealistic expectations given samples etc.

Partly a supply issue: very few organisations are giving practical advice to charities - honourable exceptions to who have some basic bits and I know looking to do more (ncvo.org.uk/help-and-guida) and the great team at .

I think this thread on data on charity sector is completely fair and suggestion of some self-regulation and adherence to Code of Practice useful… I think biggest issue is the lack of data literacy and capabilities across sector.

I wonder if Kane will get the same treatment and abuse as Rashford, Sancho, and Saka did - the three black England players that missed penalties at the Euros few years ago. Daniel Kaluuya breaks down racism in the UK. Worth a watch.

I find this maddening. Why do we allow schools to judge or assess a child & their family’s choice about haircuts & exclude them when their is no impact on their or others education?
