So, for ‘The Public Archaeology of Treasure’ I’m going to talk a little about ‘early medieval treasures and strategies for engagement’, based on my experience running this twitter feed and my blog over the last few years :) On the whole I rarely use the term… 1/15

Image of two tweets of early medieval 'Treasures' - I rarely use the term except when it is the title of a group of objects.

So as of this week I'm officially done with my list of unprofitable web projects. What next?

This project is the most niche, and the most work, and also potentially the most important - it has the potential to help people from all over behavioural science do more efficient research. I hope the web app helps people appreciate the analysis in the paper

The third project has just been accepted for publication in an academic journal, but the web part is this interactive data explorer made by which helps you really understand how our analysis applies to different circumstances.

The second was a twitter bot which guides you through an interactive essay about the philosophy and neuroscience of free will: - I couldn't have done this without and a little bit of funding from

The first was the slides from a talk on the science and politics of gender differences in cognition, transcribed, with slides formatted as a website - I like that it is in between the informality of a talk and the formality of a written argument

Two years ago I announced the first of 3 web projects which I wanted to work on, projects which took scholarly work but presented it in a way which was "strange, simple, unprofitable" (at least by the standards of academic journal publishing)

My involvement in this work started with a tweet.... Such an honour to be able to support research computing in this way. Parallelising and scaling simulation code is also a ton of fun!
