Sad news du jour: one of my favorite downtown restaurants, @WoodwardTableDC, is closing late August after a 7-year run. “We were never able to transcend the neighborhood,” owner Jeff Buben says of the 200-seater. “It takes a lot of resources to run a restaurant like that.”

To be honest, I took a couple friends there on a very rainy Saturday hoping to try out the brunch. But i should have checked - no brunch that day. We ordered off the menu. It was a very lackluster menu to say the least. We were so underwhelmed. The place was dead. Not a soul.

Sorry to say I won't shed a tear. Lived in the Woodward building, only went to WT a few times and it was mediocre food. The bar area was cool though and the flatbread was decent.
