Economics, a tech background, and Koch money are a hell of a drug. I've known about Hanson for a long time, and ultimately he has the combined problem of not really recognizing reasoning outside individual choices (ALWAYS ignoring the wider system or seeing it as unchangeable).

This claim would make more sense if Robin Hanson were anything like the median economist. Even his education isn’t typical of economists. He has graduate degrees in sciences and an interdisciplinary PhD in social science

These people need therapy and some basic introduction to how human society functions. Instead we let them run things and wonder why it all crashes and burns.
