Taken as a whole, Labour were in for 13 of the past 23 year cycle, and tbh I don't think they even count most of the Corbyn era as "Tory Rule" because the government just sort of ceased to function properly since 2016. How Labour wins them back *offering 1997 again* is beyond me.

In 2017 and 2019 I still met people who wouldn’t vote labour because they didn’t trust labour to not just be the same as 97-2010. The only way I could swing them was by saying that voting Corbyn would piss off Blair.

...the best scapegoats for tabloid writers. Those people were pushed away long before 2010 with NL ngl a lacklustre white knight in a suit come 2024 facing the climate catastrophe doesn't look like a long term relationship with the electorate even with fptp it still needs a pact.

I'm interested as to why - I grew up in a very deprived area and the NMW, SureStart and the scheme to distribute free computers to low income families all had a big impact. I feel pretty comfortable with Labour pre-Iraq, but I'd like to know if I shouldn't be.
