Let's unpack one of the arguments employed by Joy Reid's camp: if those posts were legit, they say, then why was there no outrage or comments on them at the time. This is flawed for lots of reasons.http://money.cnn.com/2018/04/28/media/joy-reid-hacking-claims-msnbc/index.html …

Let's start with the obvious: Joy Reid had a decidedly lower profile 10, 12 years ago than she does now. That those posts went unnoticed at the time is entirely believable.http://money.cnn.com/2018/04/28/media/joy-reid-hacking-claims-msnbc/index.html …

Here's another problem: the fact that those posts had zero comments on them means next to nothing. The vast majority of Joy Reid's blog posts from that time had no comments.http://money.cnn.com/2018/04/28/media/joy-reid-hacking-claims-msnbc/index.html …

Another problem: inconsistency. Back in December, Joy Reid's attorney said that the posts couldn't have been created contemporaneously. The archival dates show otherwise and so now Reid's own consultant has conceded that, yes, they were contemporaneoushttp://money.cnn.com/2018/04/28/media/joy-reid-hacking-claims-msnbc/index.html …

Maybe the most (only?) convincing part of Reid's case is the extent to which she has committed to this. I just cannot, for the life of me, understand why she would go to such lengths if she didn't believe it to be true, especially after owning up to other homophobic posts...

One final note, re: the timeline of this. Joy Reid was first called out for the homophobic blog posts on November 30. The same day, she hired the cybersecurity consultant. On December 3, she apologized for the posts. The hacking claims, of course, didn't surface until this week.
