Did you instantly see their guns before or after their badges? Did the Officer also warn you that you could be obstructing the Law? I bet he didn't! Because he probably assumed you were normal. Poor guy!

Ppl have a right to ask if police officers have a warrant & deny them entry without one. That's not obstructing justice, you absolute git. That's exercising one's legal rights.
-
But why would you not let them in? Got something to hide? Or just being a hinderance?
-
IT DOESN'T MATTER. It's one's legal right. It doesn't matter if you don't want them in your house bc you distrust police, you're in the middle of a shower, the dishes are piling up, you're worried they'll get mud in the house, or you flipped a coin and tails meant no entry.
-
It absolutely does not matter why you don't want police in your home. If they don't have a warrant, you have every right to deny them entry. Our country isn't actually supposed to be a fascist nightmare.

America has an abuse of authority problem. The sooner they accept it, the sooner it can be resolved. So lucky I grew up in a place where no one gets “accidentally” shot or harassed for nothing by police officers drunk on power.
-
And where the hell is that...may I ask?...another country?
-
Yes William. Another country.

Its such a small percentage of the police force tho, hes not lying, the 10% that make the news doesnt mean the other 90% are evil and racist too.

The saying is not "a few bad apples are no big deal." It's "a few bad apples spoil the bunch." If he's one of the "good ones" he should be extra aware of why ppl are terrified of ppl like him right now, & work to be extra professional & kind.
-
He should also have a history of calling out and speaking against the "bad ones." If he doesn't get that, he's not one of the "good ones." He's one who, while maybe not actively abusive himself, enables those who are & protects them.

It's like some of the mayo men purposely try to miss the point

Ever heard of guilt by association? You see it, you stop it. You don't? You're guilty. Regardlesss of how you feel about the situation.

Yikes! And this is an example of why Black people are afraid of law enforcement these days.
-
I don't think it's just a race thing, I'm under average height for a woman and I'm afraid of toxic cops, too. There are those who want protect & serve, and those who are grown up bullies throwing their weight around, and you never know who you're dealing with on first glance.
-
Even scarier is the fact that half the people you talk to think the cops are always in the right no matter what and civilians are wrong to use our c rights. Weird how some people profess to hate the government but turn around and worship even its most authoritarian law officers.
-
I'm a white woman and I'm terrified of the police. However, statistics make it very clear that Black ppl & other PoC have a lot more reason to be afraid than I do bc they're targeted a lot more. I'm likely to face some kind of abuse of power. Black ppl are likely to die.
-
You know who has more high blood pressure numbers than anyone else? People of color! Our stress and anxiety levels are much higher than any other demographic. Being profiled is not a pleasant experience.
-
Having never experienced it, I can only imagine that it would be truly hellish. It's why comparing my fear & distrust of police to that of a PoC would be a blatant false equivalence.
-
It's terrible to say the least.
