Jacob Burckhardt's Wikipedia page is several times more frequently visited than G.K. Chesterton's. And this is in the English-language Wikipedia! I'm surprised - I would have expected the inverse to be true.pic.twitter.com/B4WnJA10XA

Another surprise to me: Mircea Eliade's English-language Wikipedia popularity dwarfs Burckhardt's in the same way that Burckhardt's dwarfs Chestertons.pic.twitter.com/YgpwOIEOsr
Believe Eliade has been referenced by JBP repeatedly- can you extend the chart back a few more years? Would be amazed if he’s better known than Chesterton in the U.K. before that
Furthest it allows me to go back is July 2015. But Eliade's lead remains consistently large. Note that this is English-language Wikipedia as a whole, rather than just UK users who would presumably skew more towards Chesterton. Still remarkable though!pic.twitter.com/8l6aVKVFtY
Very very surprised. Have only ever found one ancient copy of the sacred and the profane and thought it was essentially unknown, compared to Chesterton who’s constantly in print. Must be the US
The dips in searches during the summer months suggest that he's on the syllabus in a number of US universities for Theology/Religious Studies etc.
Ah I see. Ludicrous Chesterton is not then though. Surely every course covering Aquinas etc must include him...
