Weaker than expected populist performance, would work if the ruling coalition had turned out as the Christian Democrat / Centrist block but with the Left holding on likely to be more of the same, Swedish Democrats grow in support while everyone else goes left “to stop fascism”

You think it’s another step to SD victory? I think the populist thing relies on having “a moment” and that’s not long term viable. Dream stuff is a mainstream conservative governments having to borrow policy from the pops. 5 star etc proves populists can’t govern themselves

Yes I think it will just take longer than it’s supporters hoped. We see the same popularist political trend across Europe and in the US. I’m surprised you don’t see it too.

Trump isn’t the same as the euro stuff. I’m not so much saying it isn’t happening as that it’s best for them they don’t win. None of these parties are ready to govern. They can shift policy outside of government more effectively
