    Why is it that politicians on all sides can’t seem to accept their mistakes and frailties, admit to uncertainty or confront uncomfortable truths? I’d find them much more credible if they did, as opposed to this “on message” nebulous promises bullshit. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    That may be the case but why not let people vote for potential no deal or extension/second referendum...surely then we’ll have true reflection of the will of the people??

    No deal will be a disaster for the worse off in society and he is putting those priorities ahead of an election. I am sure he wants an election but only once it's certain we won't crash out on 31st of October. Whenever the election comes it will end in another hung parl anyway.

    But Johnson wants an election before the 31st - which then puts two options to the electorate - either Johnson’s potential no-deal plan or Corbyn’s extension/second referendum. Which seems fair enough to me...

    Anyone serious about blocking a no deal exit on 31 Oct needs to get sufficient protections in place & then make Johnson wait until Nov as a minimum to get a GE. He will then have had to go cup in hand to the EU too for an extension. There’s no end in sight!

    Can someone with an understanding of politics explain why Jeremy Corbyn wants no deal off the table before agreeing to an election? If he’s sure of winning, then why would that be a concern? (FYI this does not mean I’m some Tory boy in favour of no deal)...
