RDM question: I have a device that depending on its mode has (3) or (43) manufacturer PIDs.
I'm thinking we differentiate modes by changing the device model ID? This should allow RDM-aware tools to consider them different devices, yes?

I've seen Luminet Monitor do caching. Not sure what exactly it used but model ID would be the obvious guess.
I'm thinking you probably also need to switch the UID if it sees the 2 modes with the same UID.

I was expecting to use the same UID, but this is a good point-- my head was more in the "device profiles" that some tools are starting to store (which is keyed off model + software version + manufacturer). But yeah, if it caches the DEVICE_INFO and the SUPPORTED_PIDS
