Lua, as a programming language, seems like it's almost universally liked. In your opinion, what's good about Lua? What's not so great about it?

Good: simple language, very small footprint. Goes pretty much everywhere. Almost scheme. Bad: seems to push you in the direction of mutation. Using immutable data requires some discipline. Not great for writing large evolving applications, but that's dynamic typing in general...
