I love getting better hardware and when I was younger I loved changing it. Now I just dread it.
Even with a spacecious case it is just not a pleasure anymore.

I'm so glad I got off this train. Since around 2012 or so, hardware has been good enough for me. Last month I had to scavenge for a "new" tower with a PCI slot for my Delta1010 because a box from 2008 that had hosted it became unreliable.

I thought I was free of it, current PC was custom assembled, 9-10 years ago, recently GPU fried, PSU died, could do with more memory, a second SSD for software & another spinny spinny disk for storage.
Whatever happened to Moores Law?

Small systems are still getting much cheaper and power efficient. At the top end, the problem is entirely software. Plenty of power available, but parallell programming is just too damn difficult.
