Watching this set flipped a switch. It inspired me to properly wire up my dusty and rusty analog gear and resume the knob twiddling :)

And I gave up on my "no DAW" setup. I'm now using Ardour 5 as the final mixer stage. It has come a long way since the early days. Trying a different workflow: sending a 2-bus mixer and two smaller 1-bus mixers into an old Delta1010.

Yes it still works great. Never gave me any issues. I bought 2 more loose breakout boxes for cheap on eBay for future FPGA tinkering. They are just I2S over 5V. The idea is to turn those into Ethernet interfaces, or connected to stand-alone FPGA-only DSP engine.
