Last week, at , we launched , a new tool to track Web censorship across the fed gov't. Analyzing 50 cases, we find that agencies essentially never provide advance notice of website changes & often fail to set-up public archives. 1/

This map gives you a rough sense of all the ways U.S. land is used. Much of U.S. land serves specific purposes, such as the 2 million acres devoted to golf courses or the 3 million acres for airports.

NEW: For almost 30 years, the country’s biggest freight railroads have waged a campaign to deny climate science and oppose almost any federal climate policy. Their effort—unearthed, in part, by college students this fall—continues to this day. My story:

now extends to climate economics as well. Newly analyzed docs from 1991 show that merely stabilizing Canadian emissions would have cost CAN$55/tCO₂ then, >$100/t in today's dollars.

In 1977, Exxon scientist James Black warned executives of the "effect of CO2 on an interglacial scale." His knowledge of historical global temps & prediction of a "carbon dioxide induced 'super-interglacial'" (in black) was remarkably consistent w/ today's best models (red). 1/n

    1. For our 7th “2C: Beyond the Limit” piece, and visited Angola, and found a gut-wrenching story about a town that's contributed virtually nothing to climate change – but is being targeted with eerie precision nonetheless.

    1. Excited to announce the 6th installment of "2C: Beyond the Limit." To me, this is one of the most striking stories that we found. It’s about dramatic changes playing out vast stretches of the northwest Pacific region as (or so we put it) “climate dominoes begin to fall.”

Breaking: The EPA's proposed rule to restrict science is somehow even worse than we thought. The agency can't protect public health with blinders on, but that's what this rule is asking them to do. It must be stopped.
