My former gate man that left two years ago to go complete learning shoe making at Aba came to me last week that he is free & needed to set up his own. When I asked him how much he needed he said 10k. I gave him the money. I will visit him after some time to see how he is doing.

I once set up a young girl in pure water business in 2007 and all she wanted was N1000. N250 for a plastic bucket with a cover, N100 for ice blocks, N500 for the initial supply of sachets of pure water and spare change. The experience to me was profound. The joy on her face.

Do not forget Cambridge Analytica, that infamous company, was once paid to create ethnic and sectarian discord among Nigerians as part of a candidate’s political campaign strategy. Before you retweet that tweet, ask yourself if you might be helping someone destroy your country

I asked myself these questions and made moves to get some answers. I know there was a compilation of a "social register" at state level. Perhaps u can go to this handle and ask all of d questions u want. I'm sure u will get d needed answers.

  16. Fingers crossed. So far so good, I think. Needs to scale up pretty fast here, 300k households is tiny compared to our poor/vulnerable population

  18. So the microcredit component of the Social Investment is called GEEP - . Gives loans from about 50k I think to a few 100k to traders, artisans, etc. Big deal for many people. There are even plans to break it down even more, do 5-10k loans for hawkers. Big deal for them

CBN Data on account balances shows the grim nature of income distribution in Nigeria. That is verifiable data from banks Nationwide. 5K bank balance is big deal, a very big deal sir.

  21. That’s the ‘Conditional’ part of the CCT. School attendance, immunization, saving, etc earn beneficiaries a ‘top-up’ payment. That’s how I believe it was done in Brazil too. You have to tie it to health and educational outcomes.
