A bit of a personal piece. There can be no doubt that lockdown has been a hugely challenging time for children of alcoholics. Now more than ever, we need to turn our attention to the plight of those children living with an addicted parent.

3/ But ultimately, Shaun can be proudest of the fact that his campaign has put the Conservatives in a good position to take back the mayoralty in three years time. Onwards!

2/ His legacy is a proud one. He didn’t just fight a positive campaign which connected with Londoners, he moved my party forwards in the capital when too many assumed we’d go backwards - helping to secure an extra Conservative Assembly Member.

1/ The commentators wrote London off for the Conservatives, and the Labour Party thought they were on course for a landslide win. confounded all of these people and can hold his head high this morning.

Shaun Bailey was written off by political types - and arguably still is in the narrative now emerging. But something I think is missing - is Shaun’s likeability and rapport with people. I saw it first hand when I went out and about with him once...

I am so proud of my brother . He has defied the odds his whole life and did really well in this election, but it wasn’t to be. He and his team put in a shift and a half in this campaign.

35% for ! Well above expectations. So pleased for him. A thoroughly decent and thoughtful guy he would have served Londoners well but had to ensure endless negativity (often personal) from politicians, pundits and pollsters. He can hold his head up high tonight.

So , despite saying during this campaign that this wasn’t a vote about independence, now claims a mandate for another referendum. Ignoring the fact that the majority of those who voted explicitly OPPOSED another divisive referendum.

I know it’s obvious, but in Scotland the majority of votes went to pro-Union parties. There is no requirement for another referendum.
