The only thing that proves your product delivers value to your customer is when they give you money for it

The idea of using Twitter to explore and evolve our identities is massively liberating. Identity is fluid, after all; the one(s) we have in our 20s will likely be very different to those of our 40s, 50s and 60s. Why should we be forced to set them in (digital) stone right now?

Love the idea of using alt Twitter accounts for a kind of identity R&D. It makes it much easier to explore ideas without committing to folding them into our public personas

I'm still using Google Keep as my main tool for capturing ideas and to-dos on the go, but if Roam could fill that gap as well it'd be awesome.

My top three feature requests (so far): 1. Mobile (Android) app that optimises for capture via daily notes 2. Offline editing so I can use Roam all the time 3. Dark mode (for desktop and mobile)—because it's just better, right?

Mine's currently a gloriously chaotic mashup of Agile Results, David Allen's natural planning model, interstitial journaling, Zettelkasting, progressive summarisation and random idea capture.

Four days in and my Roam is coming together nicely. Like says, it's a great opportunity to start rebuilding your mindcity in new, more intuitive ways. The old rules no longer apply

Previously, it hasn't been much more than "how will my setup map onto this new tool?" The fact that I'm thinking about it at a deeper level shows how much of a game changer Roam has the potential to be.

What's interesting, though, is moving to Roam has got me thinking pretty deeply about the fundamentals of my productivity system. That hasn't happened when I've switched tools before.

The problem here is I'm still thinking about pages and notes rather than bullets and ideas. Using Roam requires a mental shift to let go of the structure we've been forced into with all the tools we've used before.

I've migrated my standard GTD-style project page layout (Purpose/Principles, Outcomes, Brainstorming, Actions, Support Material) but I'm not sure how appropriate it is. Brainstorming feels like it ought to happen in daily notes rather than within the project page itself.

Projects, on the other hand, feel like they ought to be pages because they potentially have a lot of associated actionable and non-actionable material. The question is how much structure do they need?

Second observation—the atomic unit of value in Roam is the bullet point. Bullet points feel like the building blocks for everything (which is perfect for tracking tasks).

Roam's actually a much better fit for Agile Results. The idea of daily notes lends itself perfectly to the Agile Results concept of starting each day with a fresh list of three wins and your "must", "should", "could" tasks.

First observation—I'm not sure how well Roam works as a tool for GTD. GTD is pretty structured whereas Roam is all about finding threads in chaos.

Started migrating everything into from Todoist, Evernote, Pocket and other random places (like my various Google Keep accounts).

Minimalism may come across as a bit of 21st Century cult, but there's no denying we all need to rethink our relationships with our possessions. The numbers in this article are staggering

Used properly, the benefits of psychedelics for personal growth and creativity far outweigh the negatives. Criminalising LSD and magic mushrooms at the same level as heroin and crack cocaine is ridiculous
