I work in public k-12 education. I pay for my own pens, books, and other supplies. I am expected by society to pay for my students’ supplies and support all of their fundraisers and feed the ones that are hungry. I would rather only have to pay for parking.

That should not be happening, however, this is not a comparison game. You shouldn’t have to purchase those items to begin with. As a prior teacher, I understand.

Yes. And nothing wrong with that, unless staff members get free tickets on public transport or subsidised bikes. Why should cars be more advantageous than other means of transport?

I live in a rural state that has poor public transportation, so that’s not even an option for folks or students.

All parking should be paid, and should be more expensive to make people look for alternatives such as public transport, walking, running or cycling. I'm sure this will be a very unpopular opinion

Agreed, if in a city. Everyone lives miles away and it’s also 15 degrees outside in Maine.

City workers. I once complained about my semester parking pass until my state worker sister said she’s pays the same rate... per month. Madness!
