My patients' parents are always amazed when I tell them that infant's and children's acetaminophen are now the same medication concentration just in different size bottles with a HUGE price difference
I can't believe this Black boy from Detroit who was praying to get into medical school will now be giving the Commencement address 20 years at his alma mater! You can't tell me I don't serve a mighty God!!!

Random fact about me: I dislike coffee so much I refused to eat coffee cake until I was almost an adult because I was convinced coffee was one of the ingredients 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
In a 1966 Gallup poll, #MLK was rated “unfavorable” by 2/3 of Americans. Today, we revere his legacy while the injustices he fought persist—especially healthcare injustice. I propose solutions in my forthcoming book #TheBodiesKeepComing#MLKWeekend#MLKDay#BookRecommendations
Today we celebrate the new year with the #Kwanzaa principle of #Imani - Faith. 🕯️ Imani asks us to believe in each other and the victory of our struggle with all our hearts. As we enter 2022, I am optimistic about our future + hopeful for the state of Black people collectively.
Still celebrating Kwanzaa on this New Year's Eve! #Harambee✅ Day 6-Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
A residency candidate asked for my description of an ideal pediatric resident during their interview.

Thank you to our highly esteemed @GovWhitmer for appointing me to the State of Michigan Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. I look forward to lending a justice & equity lens to advising the Dept of Health & Human Services on issues pertaining to prescription drug coverage

The images of migrants in Texas being denied shelter in below freezing temperatures makes my heart hurt! Where are the "Pro-Life" activists in that area now???
Why #RepresentationMatters??!?!?
Because my Black female pediatrician was also my role model and mentor, I can pay it forward and be the next generation's role model and mentor!
#CreatingMentoringLegacies✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Ppl who think meritocracy is only scores/grades. I’m sorry but becoming a doctor after having socioeconomic/racial/gender factors stacked against you + working through school shows a lot more merit than having never worked, all of your school paid for, rich parents w/ resources
Thanks everyone for the love! I showed my med student the responses and he was blown away by the support. Also, that brother gave an EXCELLENT presentation on subacute endocarditis prophylaxis to the clinic residents!!

When your Black male medical student asks you to take a picture because this is the first time he has a Black male attending, you take a picture! 😁😁😁#RepresentationMatters#BMIM#MedTwitter
