EV charge points are part of our critical national infrastructure and the operators of such should therefore be licensed. This would help ensure they comply with things like customer service/ redress, labelling, minimum down time, etc. Leaving it to the market isn’t good enough

That’s why charge point operators should be licensed to ensure: standards of use, price labelling, disabled access, data security, data sharing, minimum down time, correct output, cleanliness, noise, etc, etc. After all this is critical national infrastructure

‘Charger rage’ is sadly a reality. With no system for queuing, chargers that don’t deliver anywhere near the output they advertise & patchy, unreliable infrastructure we have a long way to go.
Time to take the focus off the number of chargers & address some of these issues!
