Makes it very clear to visualise. The diagram also demonstrates one of the Enigma's weaknesses (that Alan Turing took advantage of) - that a letter would never encrypt to itself, simply b/c you'd have no way to make a closed circuit in that case.

Please remember about Marian Rejewski (and his team: Różycki and Zygalski). He broke Enigma (the first simple version) in 1932. For six years these three were the only ones in the world who could read messages encrypted with Enigma. Their work was the foundation for Turing.

Fantastic. I would say it's the best thing I have ever seen, but I have seen pineapple on pizza, so your visual enigma machine simulator is the second best thing I've seen.
