Remember when you used to be able to rent games from Blockbuster? How is it that movies got a digital version of renting, but games never did?

And reality is I only have enough time to play a new release for a short while anyway. I think I logged 20 hours in FO4 and haven’t picked it up since. Getting so little play time out of it for full price makes me hesitant to buy other games.
I wanted to play Witcher 3 when it came out, but I knew I wouldn’t have the time to play the entire game, so I just didn’t buy it. Happily would have rented it for a few days tho.

You should try more indie games. Most lend themselves quite well to shorter play sessions.

Steam Sales make up for some of that, but you certainly don’t get to be part of the communities “Just released” discussion of a big game that’s been super-hyped.
