This is what causes errors with transforms, animation, etc far from the world origin: camera position and object/bone/vertex position are both "big" numbers with a small difference.
Ah interesting. And "small difference" is a growing threshold as the number grows?

Right, "small" relative to the magnitude of the numbers involved.

That actually really helps clarify some differences in behaviors between float and fixed that I'd observed in the past but didn't really understand.
