Amateur programmer question: Does this make you barf because it uses a preprocessor directive when a different means could be used?

Abuse of macros in general makes me barf. "Is this abuse" is the question. Reality is only the macros can do this in c++ atm

Doable with templates, but it's not gonna look clean. Also, you would probably need one call for objects, and one for functions

Tried with templates already, you're right it doesn't look clean. And not object-vs-function but left-vs-right hand side.
