At least on a Wikipedia page, you can use your back button after clicking on a footnote. if the 538 article did that, it would be something.

@winterinformal I was talking with someone over the weekend about how nice it would be if browsers organized tabs as a tree view.
@winterinformal So that you knew which tab each tab launched from. So all references would pop up as "child tabs" of the main article.

@tloch14 So like when I right click my Back button and it shows me how I got there, but for tabs? Seems neat, but UI for it could be iffy. -
@winterinformal UI would defs be iffy. For now he settles with manually organizing his tabs.
