The original game had 5+ years of dev time, while the exp had ~2 years. Impossible to have as much content, so players think it's lacking.

@winterinformal Not entirely. Those 5 years has lots of mistakes, learning, improving pipelines. Expansions have systems already in place.
@winterinformal Not saying you aren't right, but just that the disparity of content isn't quite as big as the time it takes.
